Benefit from spacious living areas and bedrooms, direct access to the ski slopes, and discover a floor entirely devoted to leisure activities: swimming pool, massage area, sauna and hammam, entertainment room and a gym. Black Lodge is not just a holiday home, it’s a unique experience.

Black Lodge has room for up to 14 guests. Our Black Lodge staff with butler, chef and chauffeur is ready to make every single guest feel at home in this exclusive lodge in the French Alps.

Butler

Your butler organizes everything for you: from catering to (outdoor) activities. Need a ski instructor? A mountain guide? A relaxing massage? Your butler will make all the arrangements.

Chef

Your chef has experience in Michelin-star restaurants and will make every meal an experience for your taste buds.

Chauffeur

Your chauffeur will take you to the restaurants, bars and shops of Courchevel as you wish. He will meet you at the airport or station as requested.

Philosophy

Black Lodge is not your typical ski lodge. With its sleek design, spacious interior, use of noble materials, leisure areas and ecological approach, are all designed to offer a unique experience in the French Alps. In the bedrooms, the large windows catch the natural light and offer guests a breathtaking view of the mountains. The feeling of volume in the living room, with its high ceilings and all-glass wall, is particularly impressive. Despite its modern look, Black Lodge is still very cozy, giving a classic chalet feel.

Exterior

Black Lodge stands out, yet fits perfectly in its surroundings thanks to the natural materials being used for the exterior. A roof in dark slate and exterior walls in charred wood — a Japanese technique called Shou Sugi Ban — give Black Lodge a unique but natural look.

Interior

High-quality techniques, and natural materials like wood, marble and bronze give the lodge a sophisticated yet warm and cozy look. The designers from the Parisian studio Just’in Design chose neutral and soft tones — bringing more attention to the grandeur of Black Lodge’s surroundings and the generous volumes of the rooms. Bespoke, hand-crafted furniture mixed with design icons emphasize the feeling of well-being and its distinctive allure.

Probably the most ecological lodge in the French Alps

Architect Maxime Gilbert designed Black Lodge with sustainability in mind. State-of-the-art techniques such as geothermal heating and solar panels are used to provide electricity and heat up the rooms. Triple glass windows, as well as extra insulation and air-tightness, prevent heat loss.

In the garage, you’ll find a charging station to charge your electrical vehicle. If you didn’t travel by car, it’s good to know that our chauffeur will drive you around in our full electric Mercedes EQV300.

Black Lodge is located in the Chenus sector in Courchevel 1850, the most exclusive ski resort in the French Alps. At the heart of the Trois Vallées, the largest ski area in the world with over 600 km of pistes, the resort offers incredible skiing opportunities.

Courchevel offers only the best when it comes to restaurants and boutiques. After a 2-minute valet drive or just an 8-minute walk from Black Lodge, you’ll arrive in the town center where you have an abundance of highly appraised restaurants and high-end shops.

Black Lodge has a small “Petit Stade” less than 50 metres from the chalet. From there, you can reach the ski lifts Verdons, Chenus, Loze and Praz to use the slopes in Courchevel, Meribel or Val Thorens.

Good to know: Courchevel is easily accessible by plane or helicopter. The town has an airport where PC-12 airplanes and helicopters are allowed. Your butler can arrange an air shuttle to Geneva or Lyon international airport.
